Endometriosis Guidelines in Summary
Endometriosis is defined as the presence of endometrial-like tissue outside the uterus, which induce chronic and inflammatory reaction and may cause painful symptoms and/or infertility. It is estimated that up to 10% of women of reproductive age are affected. In order to offer a reference point for the care of this frequent disease, many guidelines are published by different organizations all around the world. We aimed to give a summary of the frequently used endometriosis guidelines prepared by European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE), American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM), Society of Obstetricians and Gynecologists of Canada (SOGC), German and Austrian Societies for Obstetrics and Gynecology (AWMF), Turkish Endometriosis & Adenomyosis Society (EAD), World Endometriosis Society (WES) and Russian Guidelines.
